Women's Fashion - Ralph Lauren, Roberto Cavalli, Sass and Bide, Valentino |
 |
Ralph Lauren Suave and
sophisticated is how one would describe Mr. Lauren. He started
his empire in 1967 by designing ties opposite to what was in
fashion at the time. He named his line Polo as it is a world
of elegance and style which is exactly what he wanted to
portray with his items.
Lauren has now
expanded his empire into many different areas including men,
women’s, children’s, baby and dog clothing as well as home
ware designs, sunglasses and perfumes. A first for any
designer, you can actually go online and design your own
collection by mixing and matching the colours you want and
they will make it for you. It is only for a selection of
items.
Roberto Cavalli This is
another designer who became well known through the Sex and the
City series as one of Carrie’s favourite designers. He started
his label in Florence in the early 60’s with colourful
knitwear creations which were hugely successful and he
expanded from there. Almost all he produces is entrusted to
licensees including Just Cavalli, his line for the younger
market, Roberto Cavalli Underwear, RC Eyewear, RC Timewear, RC
Class his knitwear line, RC Casa, RC Perfumes, RC Accessories
and RC Shoes just to name a few.

sass & bide An Australian
design duo sass & bide are Sarah-Jane Clarke (Sass) and
Heidi Middleton (Bide). Their style is sexy, modern, funky and
are most famous for their denim designs.
They started
with a stall on London’s Portobello Road and quickly gained a
huge underground following which lead to mainstream success
where today they showcase their designs twice a year at New
York Fashion Week.
Mischa Barton, model Gisele Bundchen, Kate
Moss, Cameron Diaz, Nicole Richie and Lindsay Lohan are all
stars that have worn their clothes. Their designs have
featured in all the top fashion glossies including Vogue,
Harpers Bazaar and Marie Claire.
Valentino He is the master of elegance when it
comes to his designs and the man himself. When Oprah met
him he told her that clothes must make her fell alive when she
wears them. This comment affected her so much that she cleaned
out her wardrobe and had a huge garage sale with all money
going to charity.
Valentino also owns Hugo Boss, M Missoni,
Malboro Classics and the Uomo Lebole labels. His women’s
and men’s lines both include the couture lines, shoes, bags
and accessories. One of his most famous dresses is the black
gown with white piping that Julia Roberts wore to the Oscars
in 2001.
